[...] Buzz – Sizzle or Fizzle? @kencamp took me less than 3 minutes last week to decide to turn it o... – I'm still catching up on the Buzz hoopla yet for me Buzz was another reminder that Google has too much of me and that goes for a lot of other companies too. I want control of me. That's why I like my own Wordpress. I don't mind fragmenting myself over various services and I use them in different ways. Still… this to me is a message. Google wants too much of me… and I for one don't really like it. [...]

To be clear, I haven't abandoned Buzz. I'm simply not using it for now. I've turned it off in Gmail. My reader posts and whatever's linked will still show up there. I just won't be seeing anyone's comments or engaging there. At least not via Gmail interface.

I have the app on my iPhone but have found it even less satisfying than the Gmail interface. I may look at it when I'm totally bored, but am moving the app off to my dead zone screen of apps that are installed but I don't use. I keep them so I can see every now and again whether I've missed something and want to use them. The Google Buzz app, isn't an app at all. It's just a browser shortcut in the first place.
