Have you ever met someone and wanted so much to learn more, but the opportunity never presented itself. Then one day out of the blue you are given a chance to have a conversation. Maybe not a ‘naked conversation’, but an easy, relaxed chat like you always imagined. This was my opportunity.

Shel Israel is known the world over as a nice guy. As he’s quick to tell you, it’s on his business card so it must be true. I can tell you this, he’s a character. From his early statement to me about how he ‘didn’t have sex with her’, which really was a joke, to his many quips throughout our conversation, Shel captivated me and as I later told him in email, I almost forgot I had more questions to ask. I just listened and wanted him to talk!

I hope you’ll enjoy this incidental interview half as much as I did as a participant. I’ll even suggest you may learn a thing or two about the man, the author, and the very prolific twitterer.

Note to Shel: I used the contrived picture because I liked the Underwood :)

Actually, Shel, I didn’t know about the earthquake in China by having a search going. I watch my tens of thousands of friends and saw that come through my stream. Right now I’m watching friendfeed that way instead of Twitter.

I’ll correct it in the book, Robert. You did get it from Casper, right?

Now this is one for the books. Shall I create a forum for you two to debate? :)

Shel, it was awesome having a chat with you.

Robert, I look forward to the same with you.
