Revamping Profiles

Posted in General by Sheryl Breuker on January 12th, 2009

Ken and I have been contemplating updating our profiles for twitter, and really focusing on tightening our online bio’s/resume’s. This is more than just changing our profile pictures, something we do on a regular basis. This has more to do with presenting our united front, and honing what we already have to a finer point.

In the process of considering a revitalization, we came across an extremely talented and bright man, David Petherick. David is a contributing author to the book Age of Conversation.
David Petherick

David uses the name clarocada on Twitter. His profile is highly memorable, but more than even his picture or his profile page on twitter, when you dig into his website you’ll find someone who sheds light on a whole host of things, in a clear and concise manner. He offers tips and suggestions for how to present your profile, things that aren’t far fetched or pitchy. He also uses common sense, something we all seem guilty of letting slip into the recesses of our minds when it comes to online presence.

David says:

Most people can not be objective when describing themselves – that’s why so many autobiographies are unreadable…

We agree.

Give our bio pages a look and then consider talking to David Petherick. At least give his site a look. There’s a ton of information there and he uses audio, which is really powerful in this case because he has a LOVELY Scottish accent. :)

Ken’s twitter.
Sheryl’s twitter.

Thank you, David! What an unexpected find you are. Oh, and to anyone reading this, David’s prices are reasonable and you won’t regret the money spent. His time alone is worth every dime. You’ll definitely come away feeling enriched.

Ken, Sheryl, thank you so much for this generous praise! What a write-up – thanks!

It was a pleasure to work with you both, and I am delighted you are so pleased with the results. Your bio page looks great – must have taken a while to get the maths right on that, but glad to have provided a starting point for you. And I like the way you’ve added your photos in the blog header.

    Best regards, David

PS: I’ve yet to adding specific information to my site about ‘twitter profile makeovers’ but I’ll probably be offering them for Charity:Water donations leading up to, and on February 12th’s ‘Twestival’ or Worldwide Twitter Festival – see http://twestival.com

I started reading Davids blog during Christmas, got a tip on a Social Media lunch here in Stockholm about him and I find he’s thoughts and writings are really interesting. In fact he’s got my thoughts about my own business that I plan to start this year in a somewhat other direction.

[...] I’ve been creating twitter backgrounds and enhancing online profiles for my customers for some time as The Digital Biographer, and I normally charge a minimum of $120 for a Twitter Profile Makeover, with a custom background and avatar. I’ve decided to offer this service at half price – just $60, and I will donate half of that – $30 – to charity: water for each Twitter background I create. [...]
